This class will use materials from The Great Courses featuring Dr. Robert Sapolsky, a Stanford professor, researcher, author and engaging lecturer. He will discuss why stress is different for modern humans than for other creatures and examine our stress response and its effect upon our hearts, metabolism, digestion, child growth and development, reproduction, immune response, cancer, and our neural network. As he examines the physical effects of stress, we will begin to understand the modern chemical and cellular approach to human biology
