Beginning to Advanced Firefighting Skills

Career and volunteer firefighters serve a vital role in our communities to save and protect both lives and property. Central to all fire training courses are hands-on, real-world scenarios using a wide variety of equipment and techniques. You'll receive comprehensive training from entry-level courses through increasingly advanced courses which lead to state certification as Fire Officer. In addition, you can enroll in Hazardous Materials Operation and Technician courses to respond to Hazmat incidents. Information About Traffic Safety Courses

Nicolet College offers different types of traffic safety courses. Our classes are only offered in-person. Group Dynamics and Multiple Offender classes are offered for those that have completed an alcohol assessment and have been referred for education. Once referred you have 72 hours to contact the College to set up your classes. Please click here if you need to make a 72-hour contact for your assessment on a Group Dynamics or Multiple Offender referral.

The College also offers a Traffic Safety Point Reduction course. This course will allow you to take a three-point reduction of demerit points from your license upon successful completion of the course. This can only be done once every three years. If you need a Failure to Yield course, you can take the Traffic Safety Point Reduction course to satisfy this requirement. This course cannot be used to satisfy an OWI course. If you have questions regarding the Traffic Safety Point Reduction Course, please contact 715-365-4600 or complete this contact form.

Students attending any continuing education classes (except contract courses) must be pre-registered. If a class has less than 10 students registered, it will be canceled three days prior to the start date. If a student hasn't registered, they will not be listed on the roster, and will not be notified of the cancellation. Therefore, it is imperative that ALL students register and pay well in advance of any Fire, EMS, or Traffic Safety class. Students sponsored by a qualifying fire department need not send money with registrations for state-funded classes. To qualify for this option, students must list their fire department on the registration form.
