Nicolet College HEERF - Quarterly Report 3/31/2023

Nicolet College has received Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) to provide financial relief to our students during the Covid-19 emergency. In accordance with the HEERF requirements, we are reporting the following information regarding our student emergency grants.

HEERF I - Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES):

  • On April 14, 2020, Nicolet College signed and submitted to the U.S. Department of Education the Certification and Agreement required by the department, along with assurance the college intends to use no less than 50 percent of funds received through the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  • Nicolet College has received $242,058 from the U.S. Department of Education for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  • As of February 3, 2021, Nicolet College has expended all the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students received through the CARES Act. 
  • The estimated total number of Nicolet College students who were eligible to receive funds through the CARES Act is 1,562. 
  • As of February 3, 2021, 389 Nicolet College students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant through the CARES Act.
  • To receive funds, students were required to complete an online application. Students were notified of the application by an email notification.  Students must have incurred expenses due to the disruption of campus operations caused by the pandemic, must not be enrolled in an online program, and meet federal title IV financial aid eligibility requirements.

HEERF II - Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA):

  • Nicolet College received $242,058 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  • As of May 21st, 2021, Nicolet College has expended all the Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students received through CRRSAA. 
  • The estimated total number of Nicolet College students who were eligible to receive funds through the CRRSAA Act is 1,258   
  • As of May 21st, 2021, 320 Nicolet College students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant through the CRRSAA Act.
  • Eligibility
    • $668 grants disbursed to students who received a Pell Grant in the spring 2021 term.
    • Emergency grants were also available to all financial aid eligible students through Nicolet Colleges emergency grant application process.    

HEERF III - American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA):

  • Nicolet College will receive $1,642,636 for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
  • As of October 5, 2022, Nicolet College has expanded $172,928 of emergency student grants during this quarter. 
  • The estimated total number of Nicolet College students who were eligible to receive funds through the ARPA during this time is 1,495.
  •  As of October 5, 2022, 276 Nicolet College students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant through ARPA during this quarter.
  • Eligibility
    • To receive funds, students were required to complete an online application.
    • Grants will also be disbursed to students with exceptional need based on information provided in the FAFSA, these grants will vary based on the amount of funding provided through applications each term.
