COVID19 UPDATE #28

Greetings, Nicolet Community –

You may have learned that earlier today the CDC changed its mask guidance and is now recommending all individuals—regardless of vaccination status—wear masks when indoors while residing or visiting a location deemed to have “substantial” or “high” rates of COVID-19 or COVID-19 Delta transmission. Nicolet College will continue to follow CDC guidance and will be monitoring the CDC’s website for changes that may impact Oneida County and require the College to reinstate our campus mask policy.

Currently, the CDC has deemed Oneida County to be a location with “moderate” COVID-19 transmission, and at this time, no changes to our masking recommendations are required. You are encouraged to visit the CDC’s “COVID-19 Data Tracker” to view the county’s transmission status and to evaluate other counties in which you may reside or visit to make sure you are complying with mask wearing recommendations for that particular location. Here is where you can find the data tracker: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues and new variants of the virus emerge, we continue to focus on ensuring our students and staff are protected. Working collaboratively, we will put this pandemic behind us so that we can focus on meeting the needs of our students and the greater Nicolet community. Meanwhile, thank you for your continued dedication to our Mission, your personal commitment to staying safe, to each other, and to those we serve. Please stay connected to our COVID-19 website and know that any change in college operations will also be communicated via AllStaff email.

Our deepest appreciation to you for your vigilance,

--Kate
