Northwoods Center 207-209
Instructor: Kerry Bloedorn

Step back into 1930’s America and learn about the incredible story of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Northwoods. Join Northwoods historian Kerry Bloedorn, director of the Pioneer Park Historical Complex and the Wisconsin CCC Museum, as he brings to life the grit and determination of the young men who rebuilt our forests, battled wildfires, and helped bring America back from the brink of the Great Depression. Discover how their hard work not only transformed the Northwoods but left a lasting legacy still visible today. With a presentation full of amazing photos from the CCC camps around the Northwoods, it will open a window into the past, and into one of the most highly regarded federal programs in US history, the Civilian Conservation Corps.

Kerry Bloedorn is the director of Rhinelander’s Pioneer Park Historical Complex, host of WJFW’s, Connecting the Dots and WXPR’s Northwoods, Moment in History. He also writes for New North Magazine.
