Embark on an extraordinary journey to explore Mars. Delve into Mars’ place in the solar system, its unique environment, and the early history of Martian astronomical observation. Learn about past and present Martian landscapes, its geologic history, and its water record over its 4.5 billion-year existence. Discover the composition of the Martian atmosphere and discuss whether life exists or has existed on Mars. Learn the history of human satellite and rover exploration, current unmanned operations, and future plans to establish a human outpost on Mars. Learn about the companies and countries focused on Martian science, exploration, and eventual colonization. The instructor holds a master’s degree in Space Studies specializing in Planetary Science and brings extensive knowledge and experience.
