TEEN TALK VS. GRANDPA’S LINGO
Wednesday, March 4
1:00 PM
Nicolet College, Northwoods Center 207-209
Instructor: Darlene Machtan

Ever feel that they’re speaking a different language? If you’re not sure what Generation Z (born 1997-2012) or Generation Alpha (born 2013-2024) is saying, you’re not alone. This session explores what current teen slang means and why they’re saying it in a way you can’t understand. This class might help you better understand your grandkids!

Darlene Machtan is a “retired” longtime Rhinelander resident, an English and speech teacher, writer, and traveler. She is currently spending several days a week in jail, exploring and educating yet another culture. (She’ll clarify this part of her career.)
