Fiber F(r)iends Exhibition

Lynn Gilles
Opening Reception: Thursday, August 18
5 - 7 pm
Free Admission – No advanced registration required
After 10 years of creativity and friendship, Fiber F(r)iends welcomes the opportunity to present new work for public viewing in the Nicolet Art Gallery. This innovative exhibition will include fiber pieces from member artists Colleen Ansbaugh, Jan Dietrich, Pat Gaska, Lynn Gilles, Arlene Lueck, Emmy Nitzel, Helen Tumas, and Gale Willcox, as they responded to a number of artistic challenges inspired by art and poetry, various materials, and working in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. Fiber F(r)iends is a gathering of artists who meet monthly to share work, discuss new techniques and books related to fiber arts, plan exhibitions, and learn from others in the fiber arts community.

Sleeping with the Sandhills | Roberta Condon | Portage, Wisconsin | Pastel
No one knows how our juror/judge Robert Kanyusik managed to choose 101 pieces of art out of the 646 submitted for review, because they were all amazing. Hours were spent looking through the entries, and yet there was always something new to appreciate each time through.

2022 Northern National Art Competition
The Northern National Art Competition (NNAC) is a juried art exhibition co-sponsored by the Northern Arts Council and Nicolet College. Each year, hundreds of artists nationwide submit work to be considered for inclusion. The competition strives to showcase a cross section of contemporary art in a variety of two-dimensional mediums. The art is always both intellectually stimulating and visually exciting. Submissions are accepted during the late winter, with the exhibit and judging held in late July. Watch for more information about the 2022 NNAC.
