About the Nursing Assistant Program

The nursing assistant is a vital member of the health care team. The nursing assistant carries out assigned duties under the direction of the professional nurse. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, toileting, assisting with feeding, taking vital signs, ambulating, lifting and moving clients, and performing other selected nursing procedures. The instructional program for the Nursing Assistant diploma consists of lecture with laboratory practice and supervised clinical experience in local health care facilities. This program is approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health as a nurse aide training program. The diploma is granted for successful completion of 120 hours of instruction.

Additional Costs

Students are required to pay tuition and the following other costs as applicable:

  1. Textbook and curriculum binder ($110)
  2. TB skin test ($15), Influenza vaccine ($45), MMR ($30)
  3. Caregiver criminal background check ($10)
  4. Upon successful completion of the course, students wanting to become Certified Nursing Assistants need to take the State certification exam (Approximately $120)
  5. Uniform tops will be provided to students free of charge

WisCaregiver Careers: Free Training. Free Testing. $500 Bonus.

The Wiscaregiver Career Program offers nurse aide training at no cost to the student through participating, approved nurse aide training programs like the Nursing Assistant program at Nicolet College. Testing fees for the state competency exam will be covered for all students who successfully complete training and program requirements.

Credit for Prior Learning
