Discovery Days: Fire & Emergency Medical Services
PLEASE NOTE:
For ages 16-18
June 22-23: Nicolet College - Fieldside Center
June 24: Aspirus (Woodruff)
June 25: Fire department tour & WI DNR
*Student/parent responsible for daily location transportation.
Daily Hands-on Activities Include:
- Traveling up and down stairs while in full turn-out gear
- Participate in search and rescue scenarios in low light conditions with obstacles
- Hands-on use of hose lines and extinguishers
- Participate in emergency first aid and complete“Stop the Bleed” course
- Travel to a fire department and experience a morning with a career department’s daily operation
- Visit Aspirus-Howard Young Hospital in Woodruff and meet with emergency medical professionals and the Aspirus MedEvac Helicopter and flight crew
- Learn techniques and tools and see implements used by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources infighting wild land fires

Registration opens March 1, 2026 with final registration due June 1. Please register early as class size is limited in each program.
Cost
Thanks to generous donations and community support, these summer programs are being offered this year at the special discounted rate of $20 per course. This support covers all course content, required materials, and lunch.
