Mary Pember, Author of Medicine River

Mary Annette Pember, a citizen of the Red Cliff Band of Wisconsin Ojibwe, will be speaking about her book, Medicine River, a sweeping and deeply personal account of Native American boarding schools in the United States, and the legacy of abuse wrought by them in an attempt to destroy Native culture and life. Her talk will be followed by a discussion of her book and the history and consequences of the boarding schools.
