After the indoor presentation, attendees will also have the opportunity to try their hand at casting a fly rod in
the Nicolet College Field, weather permitting.
Terry Rutlin worked at Nicolet College for 25 years, retiring as Public Information Officer and coordinator and instructor for the Outdoor Adventure program. While relatively new to casting flies, he just completed his fifth season of Fly Fishing. He regularly hits up streams across northern Wisconsin, the Driftless Area in southwestern Wisconsin, and streams in the U.P.
Bob Paine has been fly fishing since 1956 and has been teaching/providing fly casting coaching since around 1990. He has been teaching three different fly fishing classes in college settings and other organized venues since 2010, first in northern Illinois and then at Nicolet College since 2017. He is a member in the Pro Programs of several manufacturers of fly rods, reel, and lines. He has been teaching under the Orvis School Program since around 2012. He also taught in the free Orvis 101 classes held at the Orvis store in Lombard, Illinois, when he lived in northern Illinois. He has given numerous fly fishing presentations at various venues, including at the Wisconsin River Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited meetings.
