This beginner-friendly course is perfect for anyone interested in fly fishing. You’ll learn terminology, equipment for different species and situations, types of flies and their uses, plus essential fly fishing techniques and casts. Practice the basic forward cast, sidearm cast, wiggle cast, roll cast, curve casts, and the flopping mend. All equipment is provided, but if you have your own fly rod setup, bring it along for personalized feedback. Major emphasis is on casting practice, with other course content provided via handouts and online resources.
 
Cancellations must be made five days before the initial class session to be eligible for a refund. Nicolet College reserves the right to cancel, reschedule, substitute instructors, or make any changes to classes as necessary. Age requirement for Community Education classes: Unless otherwise specified in the class description, children under 18 are allowed, but must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
