Nicolet College Welcomes Three New Board Members, Reappoints One

At a board meeting on July 14, three new board members were sworn in to the Nicolet College Board of Trustees, and one board member was re-appointed.

Jim Mulleady of Eagle River, employee of Shorewest Realtors, will serve as an employee member with a three-year term.

Tony Pharo of Eagle River, executive director of Oneida County Economic Development Corporation, will serve as an additional member with a three-year term.

Scott Sievert of Rhinelander, general manager at Trident Maritime Systems, will serve as an interim employer member with a two-year term.

Abbey Dall of Rhinelander, executive director of Northwoods Alliance for Temporary Housing, was re-appointed for another three-year term as an employer member.

"We’re delighted to welcome Jim, Tony, and Scott to the Board of Trustees,” said Kate Ferrel, president of Nicolet College. “They each bring deep expertise combined with enthusiasm for community service. Their guidance will help ensure College continues to be an asset to the people of our district.”

At its July organizational meeting, the board elected officers for 2025-26. They are Abbey Dall, chair, Bob Martini, vice-chair, Bob Mott, treasurer, and Stephanie Byers, secretary.

Each January, applications open for residents of the Nicolet College district to serve on the Board of Trustees. Board members must reside in the district, to ensure they represent the interests of the local communities served by the College.

State guidelines dictate that technical college boards must have employers, employees, a PreK-12 school superintendent, an elected government or school board member, and at-large members. These guidelines for representation ensure the College is governed by people invested in a wide range of community interests.

Board member applications are reviewed, interviewed, and voted on by the elected county chairs in the Nicolet College district, which includes Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Iron, Langlade and Lincoln counties.
