

Nicolet College Community Input on Proposed Municipal Well
Opportunities to Provide Input to Nicolet College
The City of Rhinelander has proposed installing a municipal well at Nicolet College. Nicolet College is currently investigating the legal, environmental and financial impact of the project to decide whether to sell or lease land to the City. We need our community’s input!
1. Neighborhood Listening Session at Nicolet College
Date, Time & Location: Tuesday, May 20 at 3-4:15 p.m. at Northwoods Center Room 207
Purpose: The neighborhood listening session will provide an opportunity for Nicolet College’s neighbors to get together and learn about the College’s perspective and engage in productive dialogue with the Nicolet College President and other leaders about the potential drawbacks and benefits of the project.
2. Public Input Session at Nicolet College Board of Trustees Meeting
Date, Time & Location: Tuesday, May 20 at 4:30 p.m. at Northwoods Center Room 207 (not Red Oak 102)
Purpose: Public input sessions at Board meetings provide an opportunity for Nicolet College district residents to make statements to the Board of Trustees. In compliance with open meeting laws, there will not be dialogue or discussion with trustees.
How to sign up to give public input:
- By Tuesday, May 20 at 2 p.m., sign up to give input by filling out the following form online: https://bit.ly/4jARvrR or by contacting Kris Peeters at kpeeters@nicoletcollege.edu | 715-365-4416. Only those who signed up will be invited to speak.
What to expect during the public input session:
- Speakers will each have three minutes to speak. Additional time may be granted at the discretion of the Board Chair.
- The Board will be focused on listening. They are not allowed to engage in dialogue or discussion on any matters raised during the public input period.
- Respectful language is necessary to support an environment of civility and understanding. If speakers or audience members engage in defamatory or obscene speech, the Board Chair may require them to leave.
