COVID19 UPDATE #29

Greetings Nicolet College Community,

On behalf of the college leadership team, we hope this note finds you and yours well and enjoying a spectacular summer in the Northwoods.

I am checking in with you today to lend assurance to the college community that we are closely monitoring developments relative to the COVID-19 Delta variant. As such, we continue to operate with decisions informed by good science and sound medical advice. More specifically, we are paying close attention to the information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Oneida County Health Department, along with information from the region’s health care providers relative to hospitalizations and ICU capacity.

At this time, we see no need to change our policies and recommendations which state that fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear a face mask while inside college buildings. We remain a “mask friendly” campus and continue to provide face masks at our buildings’ main entryways for those who wish to wear a mask while on campus. This recommendation is based upon the data gathered by public health agencies which categorize Oneida county at a “moderate” transmission level.

If Oneida County increases to “substantial” or “high” transmission levels, we will consider additional health and safety measures. In that the data changes rapidly, we appreciate your attention, flexibility, compliance, patience, and grace.

Your health and safety is our top priority. Employees, students, and visitors are expected to keep their health—and the health of others—top of mind when coming to campus. We are so grateful to you for doing your part to mitigate the spread of the virus.

Please reach out if you have any questions.

Kindly,

--Kate
