COVID19 UPDATE #33

Greetings, Nicolet College Community,

On Friday afternoon, February 25, I sent a message letting you know that the CDC updated its guidance on mask wearing. In consultation with staff across the college, the Executive Leadership Team is lifting Nicolet College’s mask requirement. Effective immediately, the wearing of masks is no longer required at Nicolet College.

Mask wearing is certainly welcomed, especially in situations where it is difficult to maintain physical distance. We also strongly encourage anyone showing cold-like symptoms (coughing, sneezing, runny nose) to wear a mask. As has been the recommendation since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, if you’re feeling sick, stay home (and don’t forget to connect with your instructor or supervisor if you need to be out).

Masks will continue to be provided at building entrances and hand sanitizer will be placed in rooms and lounges across campus. The college will continue to frequently sanitize and clean high-touch surfaces. Observing other safety protocols such as physical distancing and handwashing will also slow the transmission of COVID-19.

Occupancy restrictions (previously 50% capacity) will cease as well.

Should circumstances warrant, or governing bodies mandate, the college will reinstate safety measures that best fit the needs of our learning and working environment.

If you have any questions, please connect with your faculty member, your success coach, your supervisor, Employee Relations, or me.

I cannot thank you all enough for your patience, grace, and compassion throughout the pandemic.
