Two new board members have been sworn in to the Nicolet College Board of Trustees.

Kristin Allen of Lac du Flambeau will serve as an additional member with a three-year term. Allen currently serves as the Higher Education Transition Coordinator with the Lac du Flambeau Tribe. She has contributed to numerous boards, committees and commissions for over 10 years.

Teri Theiler of Tomahawk will serve as an interim additional member with a two-year term. Theiler currently serves as the President-Aspirus North Division. She also contributes her expertise as a board member for Howard Young and the Wisconsin Hospital Association.

"We’re delighted to welcome Kristin and Teri to the Board of Trustees,” said Kate Ferrel, president of Nicolet College. “They each bring deep expertise combined with enthusiasm for education. Their perspectives will help ensure Nicolet College continues to be an asset to the people of our district.”

At its July organizational meeting, the board elected officers for 2026-27. They are Eric Burke, chair, Bob Martini, vice-chair, Bob Mott, treasurer, and Stephanie Byers, secretary.

Each January, applications open for residents of the Nicolet College district to serve on the Board of Trustees. Board members must reside in the district, to ensure they represent the interests of the local communities served by the College.

State guidelines dictate that technical college boards must have employers, employees, a PreK-12 school superintendent, an elected government or school board member, and at-large members. These guidelines for representation ensure the College is governed by people invested in a wide range of community interests.

Board member applications are reviewed, interviewed, and voted on by the elected county chairs in the Nicolet College district, which includes Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Iron, Langlade and Lincoln counties.
