Nicolet College Foundation’s A Day for Nicolet Kicks Off October 8

Category

The Nicolet College Foundation will kick off its biggest scholarship fundraising event of the year Thursday, Oct. 8, when A Day for Nicolet gets underway throughout the Northwoods.

“Every dollar contributed during A Day for Nicolet goes directly to help students,” said Nicolet College Foundation Executive Director Heather Schallock. “Our donors play an important role in supporting Nicolet students, many of whom would not be able to attend college with the assistance.”

She noted donations are especially important this year in light of COVID-19 and the added financial stress it has placed on many students. In March, the Foundation went into rapid response mode and created the Student Emergency Assistance Fund to help students financially affected by the pandemic.

This is the 20th year of A Day for Nicolet.

On Oct. 8 kick-off volunteers will begin contacting businesses, organizations, clubs, and individuals throughout the region to generate donations.

To date the event has raised more than $2.5 million to support higher education in the Northwoods. This year the Foundation has set a goal of raising $200,000.

Anyone who would like to make a scholarship contribution or learn more about activities of the Nicolet College Foundation can contact Schallock at (715) 365-4518, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4518; TTY 1-800-947-3529 or 711 relay.
