Free Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Get ready for some fall fun! 🍂 The Library and Student Engagement Team are hosting the 2nd annual Pumpkin Decorating Contest on Friday, October 31, from 10 AM to 3 PM in the Lakeside Center.

We’ll have a caramel apple bar and festive drinks to enjoy while you check out all the creative pumpkin designs!

How to participate:

  • 🎃 Need a pumpkin? Pick one up in the Library during the week of October 20–24 from 8:30 AM - 4 PM (while supplies last).
  • ✨ Decorate your pumpkin and drop it off at the Library between October 27–30 from 8:30 AM - 4 PM.
  • 🗳️ Voting will take place in person and on Facebook on October 31 from 10 AM - 3 PM.
  • 💻 Can’t make it in person? Email a photo of your pumpkin to libraryinfo@nicoletcollege.edu to join virtually!

And if you’re feeling festive, consider wearing a costume to the event (or email us a photo if you’re participating virtually)!

Free Author Visit & Discussion: Nancy Austin

Nicolet College Library - Lakeside Center 3rd FL

The Nicolet College Library is excited to host local Poet, Nancy Austin. As part of her book release tour, she will be sharing excerpts in a live reading from her newly published poetry collection: The Psychology of Water. 

Austin, a Pushcart Prize nominated poet, is published in numerous journals and anthologies. She is a member of the Wisconsin Fellowship of Poets. Her collections include The Psychology of Rough Water (Kelsay Books, 2025), Something Novel Came in Spring (Water’s Edge Press, 2022), The Turn of the Tiller, The Spill of the Wind (Kelsay Books, 2019), Remnants of Warmth (Kelsay Books, 2016), and a collaborative anthology with the PaperBirch Poets, Stitching Earth to Sky (Water’s Edge Press, 2019). 

Austin will be doing an extended reading followed by a Q&A about writing and publishing. Refreshments will be provided. Free and open to the public.
