Heavy equipment operators install, transport, operate, and maintain heavy machinery such as rigging devices, hoists, and jacks. They may have skills in other trades as well. These workers must be physically fit and able to solve problems. Future career path opportunities include jobs as estimators, inspectors, project managers, trade instructors, and foreman.
- Must be currently employed in the heavy equipment field and sponsored by the employer.
- Length of apprenticeship is three years.
- Classes are held at ABC Apprenticeship headquarters in Madison.
