This afternoon, Governor Evers issued a state-wide “Emergency Order Prohibiting the Mass Gatherings of 10 People or More”. It says, in part:

Effective at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, all public and private schools and institutions of higher education in the State of Wisconsin shall close for instructional and extracurricular activities at 5:00 p.m. Such institutions shall remain closed for the duration of the public health emergency or until a subsequent order lifts this specific restriction.

The Governor’s Office has since clarified with us that this order does not apply to any virtual or online activity.

At present, the WTCS state office is working with the Governor’s office to obtain additional clarification on the meaning of “… close for instructional and extracurricular activities…” and that information will be shared once known. In the meantime, please continue your great work on making our great programs and services available remotely.
