Nicolet College District Board Openings

Thank you for your interest in the Nicolet College District Board.
Rules governing the appointment process can be found in Wisconsin State Statutes 38.08 & 38.10. Appointments will be made for the following positions in accordance with the Board Appointment Committee’s Plan of Representation, which specifies categories of membership as well as geographic areas, gender, and minority representation within the district. In order to meet the Plan of Representation, the following open positions and requirements must be filled.
The following positions will commence on or about July 1, 2020, upon certification of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.
- Two (2) Additional Members, 3-year terms, expiring June 30, 2023
- One (1) Elected Official Member, 3-year term, expiring June 30, 2023
- At least two (2) of the three (3) open positions must reside in Oneida County or the portion of Langlade County that is within the Nicolet College District
- At least one (1) of the three (3) open positions must reside in the portion of Lincoln County that is within the Nicolet College District
- At least one (1) of the three (3) open positions must be filled by a female
- At least one (1) of the three (3) open positions must be filled by a male
Board Member Category Definitions:
Additional Member: All residents of a technical college district are eligible to serve as an additional member for that college.
Elected Official Member: You are considered an applicant in the elected official category if, as defined in s. 5.02, Wis. Stats., you are a state or local elected official.
In the appointment process, equal consideration is given to the general population distribution within the Nicolet College District, as well as to the distribution of women and minorities. Note: No two members of the Nicolet College District Board may be officials of the same governmental unit, nor may any district board member be a member of the school board which employs the School District Administrator member.
Applicants must attend the meeting and public hearing of the District Board Appointment Committee on Monday, March 23, 2020, at 3 p.m., in the Red Oak Center (RC) Fireside Room 102, at Nicolet College in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and provide at least two letters of recommendation supporting his/her candidacy to the Nicolet College District Board before being interviewed at the scheduled public hearing.
To accommodate any candidates unable to attend on this date to be interviewed, a second meeting and public hearing is being scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 3 p.m. at the same location. If all candidates are able to appear at the first meeting, the second meeting will be canceled.
Completed Affidavit/Application forms must be NOTARIZED AND RECEIVED by mail or electronically at the address below no later than 4 p.m., on Thursday, February 27, 2020.
