Nicolet, Herzing partner to create new Nursing bachelor’s degree pathway

Jan. 17, 2018

Students with an associate degree from Nicolet College will have a more affordable and flexible option to earn a bachelor’s of science in Nursing (BSN) degree, thanks to a partnership announced with Herzing University.

Following completion of an associate degree and application to Herzing’s DEGREE UP program, students can pursue credit from both Nicolet College and Herzing University simultaneously. The partnership will allow students to take advantage of Nicolet’s tuition rates for many required bachelor’s-level courses, making the next stage in their education more affordable.

Nursing student practicing skills“Over the years many Nicolet Nursing graduates have gone on to to earn a bachelor’s degree,” said Nicolet Dean of Health Occupations Candy Dailey. “This new partnership with Herzing University creates another opportunity for individuals to reach that goal and learn the advanced skills that lead to a rewarding career.”

Students in the DEGREE UP program take their courses from Herzing University Online. The end result is both an associate degree from Nicolet College and a BSN degree from Herzing University. Herzing offers classes in spring, summer and fall semesters, allowing students to earn the degree in as little as 12 months.

Herzing RN to BSN students may also elect to take up to four graduate courses that will satisfy RN to BSN program requirements. These courses also count toward a Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program with Herzing.

“RN to BSN Online is an efficient and flexible degree program for registered nurses and students,” said Herzing University Madison Campus President Bill Vinson. “They can keep working and fulfilling other obligations while earning a degree that will help advance their careers.”

Herzing University's Online RN to BSN program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). CCNE accreditation acknowledges that Herzing's nursing programs meet specific national standards. Accreditation is important for individuals who may want to further their education, as most post-grad programs require a degree from an accredited program.

Herzing University is an accredited private nonprofit institution with 11 campuses in eight states with extensive online progamming.
