Nicolet College Graduation May 19
May 14, 2018
The goal of becoming a college graduate is expected to become reality for more than 430 individuals when Nicolet College holds its 49th annual spring graduation Saturday, May 19.
“Earning a college credential is a valuable accomplishment and one that each graduate will proudly carry with them for the rest of their lives,” said Nicolet College President Richard Nelson. “The skills graduates possess are exactly what they need to enter the workforce and enjoy successful careers or to continue their education at four-year colleges and universities.”
Nicolet will hold two graduation ceremonies in the Nicolet College Theatre to accommodate all of the graduates, their families and guests. One will take place at 9 a.m. with the second starting at 11 a.m.
In all, Nicolet is expecting to bestow 503 associate’s degrees, technical diplomas, and certificates for the 2017-18 academic year. Some students will have earned two or more of these credentials.
Students who earned a GED or HSED through the college’s Academic Success program will also participate in the graduation ceremonies. This year 34 individuals successfully completed GED and HSED studies.
Following the graduation ceremonies, the college at 1 p.m. will hold the annual Nurse Pinning Ceremony in the Nicolet College Theatre. The Pinning Ceremony has a long history, going back to the 1860s when it was started by Florence Nightingale.
