Aug. 3, 2018

Anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit looking to start a business or take a current enterprise to the next level is invited to attend Nicolet College’s free Exploring Entrepreneurship workshop Tuesday, Aug. 21, in Eagle River.

The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Vilas County Incubator Hwy. 70 Business Park, 4825 Hwy. 70 West.

“A great idea for a business is just the start,” said Patty Krarup, a Nicolet entrepreneur instructor who launched and owned a successful financial services business for 40 years. “There are many other pieces that have to be in place for a business to prosper. The workshop will provide an overview of topics that include creating a business plan, analyzing the market and competition, securing funding, and other factors that go into being productive and profitable.”

The free workshop will be followed this fall with the seven-week Nicolet Entrepreneur Training (NET) Business Blueprint Course, which will delve deeper into the subject matter and offer guidance from experts in the fields of banking and finance, business law, insurance, accounting, marketing, and more.

Designed for both new and existing business owners, the seven-week course will also offer access to industry and market research tools, individualized support and guidance, and resources to help transform your dreams and ideas into reality.

The NET Business Blueprint course will meet Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Sept. 12 to Oct. 24. at the Vilas County Incubator Hwy. 70 Business Park.

The NET Business Blueprint course is valued at $495 per person. Vilas County residents can apply for full funding through the Juday Entrepreneurial Scholarship program. Additional business counseling and mentorship is provided through the Vilas County Economic Development Corporation.

Residents outside Vilas County can apply for full funding through a grant Nicolet received from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and support from the Oneida County Economic Development Corporation made possible through a private donation.
