BPA students take top state honors; three advance to nationals

Five Nicolet College students took top honors at the recent Business Professionals of America State Competition held in Wausau.
The students include, left to right, Leslie Hogue, Boulder Junction, Lisa Schmidt, Three Lakes, Angela Platek, Rhinelander, and Christine Wilberding, Rhinelander. Jasmine Pugh, Rhinelander, was unable to be in the photo.
In all, the students brought home a dozen honors, ranging from first to fourth place.
Advancing to the National Leadership Conference competition in Dallas, Texas, in May will be Wilberding, Platek, and Pugh.
Specific awards are as follows:
Christine Wilberding: 1st place Fundamental Word Processing, 2nd place Basic Office Systems and Procedures.
Angela Platek: 2nd place Fundamental Word Processing, 2nd place Administrative Support Concepts, 4th place Basic Office Systems and Procedures.
Jasmine Pugh: 3rd place Fundamental Word Processing, 1st place Fundamental Desktop Publishing, 1st place Integrated Office Applications, 4th place Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.
Lisa Schmidt: 4th place Intermediate Word Processing
Leslie Hogue: 1st place Fundamentals of Web Design, 4th place Computer Programming Concepts.
