Free entrepreneurship workshops in Rhinelander, Eagle River

Feb. 28, 2017

Anyone looking to start a business or take a current venture to the next level is invited to attend Nicolet College’s free Exploring Entrepreneurship workshops offered through the Nicolet Entrepreneurial Training (NET) Program.

Free workshops will be held in Eagle River Tuesday, March 7, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Highway 70 Business Park and in Rhinelander Wednesday, March 8, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the Nicolet Campus in the White Pine Center 208.

“There are many different factors that come into play when launching and running a business,” said Sandy Bishop, Nicolet dean of Workforce and Economic Development. “Each workshop will provide an overview of topics that will include creating a business plan, analyzing the market and competition, securing funding, and other factors that go into operating a successful business.”

The free workshops will be followed this spring by the 10-Week NET Business Blueprint Course which will delve deeper into the subject matter and offer guidance from experts in the fields of banking and financing, business law, insurance, accounting, marketing, and more.

Designed for both new and existing business owners, the course also offers access to industry and market research tools, individualized support and guidance, and resources to help transform your dreams and ideas into reality.

In Eagle River, the NET Business Blueprint course will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., March 28, to May 30, at the Hwy. 70 Business Park.

In Rhinelander, the 10-week course will meet Wednesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 29 to May 31 in White Pine Center 208 on Nicolet’s Rhinelander Campus.

The NET Business Blueprint course is valued at $495 per person. Vilas County residents can apply for full funding through the Juday Entrepreneurial Scholarship program.

Residents outside Vilas County can apply for partial funding through a grant with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).
