Nicolet ready to assist students affected by sudden ITT Technical Institute closure
Sept. 8, 2016
With the recent closure of ITT Technical Institute, any Northwoods students who were enrolled in ITT classes are encouraged to contact Nicolet College for help creating a plan that will allow them to continue their college education.
“Nicolet Academic Advisors and Career Coaches are available and ready to work with any students affected by the ITT closure,” said Nicolet Vice President of Student Affairs Kate Ferrel.
“Staff will work with students on the credit transfer process, determine if there are any credit for prior learning opportunities, and assist with the federal financial aid application process.”
The for-profit ITT Technical Institute decided to end operations Tuesday, Sept. 6, after the federal Department of Education questioned its financial stability and decided to eliminate federal financial aid to the institute.
Any affected students can contact Nicolet to set up an appointment by calling (715) 365-4493, 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4493; TTY 1-800-947-3529 or relay 711.
