Culinary Arts Open House March 16

Enrolling in Nicolet College’s Culinary Arts program is one of the best things Jared Demmith said he’s ever done.

“It’s such a great program,” said Demmith, who is finishing up his two-year associate degree this semester. “I would highly recommend Nicolet’s Culinary program. I look forward to coming to school every day.”

Culinary Open HouseAnyone thinking about following in Demmith’s footsteps is encouraged to learn more about the program at the upcoming Culinary Arts Open House Wednesday, March 16, in the Northwoods Center. Interested individuals can stop by anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.

At the event prospective students will have the chance to tour the state-of-the-art kitchen, watch cooking demonstrations by students, see the different classrooms, and sample appetizers prepared by current students.

Demmith said the range of learning is important.

“What I like about the program is that you learn how to prepare all different kinds of food, but it’s also much more than that. You learn about the management side, how to order food, how to calculate cost and pricing, labor costs, the cost of overhead. You get the whole picture,” he said.

At the Open House information will also be available on the college admission process, financial aid, scholarships, and career opportunities. Everyone who attends will receive a voucher, which waives the college’s application fee.
