Nicolet to survey residents 50-plus about college offerings
Aug. 2, 2016
With the 50-plus population continuing to grow in the Northwoods, Nicolet College has launched a survey to determine how the college can continue to meet the changing and emerging needs of these individuals.
“Nicolet is committed to serving all residents in the district. Not only are the demographics of the area changing, but the lifestyles and interests of the 50-plus age group are evolving as Baby Boomers retire and individual’s lifestyles and plans are impacted by economic changes, and health developments that lead to longer and healthier lives.” said Nicolet Executive Director Sandy Kinney. “The results of the survey will help the college identify ways it can best serve individuals age 50 and older.”
The survey includes questions about job skills training and career advancement for individuals who wish to continue or pursue new opportunities in the workforce as well as questions about how Nicolet can further enrich the lives of area retirees. The college currently offers career training in 68 areas, a Learning in Retirement group, Continuing Education courses, Outdoor Adventure classes, and a variety of arts and outreach activities.
