Regional art exhibit on display through June 27
June 3, 2015
Works created by artists from across the Northwoods will be on display in the Nicolet College Art Gallery through June 27 during the annual Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) exhibit.
The installation includes a wide variety of art forms that include paintings, drawings, ceramics, fiber, sculpture, and photography, along with others.
“It’s always exciting to see the latest pieces created by local artists,” said Katy Ralph, Nicolet College Art Gallery director. “We have many, many talented artists in the region and this exhibit is a great way for them to share their many forms of artistic expression with the public.”
Admission is free to the exhibit, which is one of two dozen regional WRAP exhibits that will be held across the state this year.
Judge for the Nicolet exhibit is Daniel Goscha, Graphic Design lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and former instructor at Nicolet.
He has selected nine pieces from the Nicolet exhibit to be included in the statewide WRAP exhibit in Madison in September. Nine other pieces received Honorable Mention awards.
Goscha will also lead an arts workshop and exhibit critique from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, June 27, in the Learning Resources Center on the Nicolet Campus.
For more information about the workshop, contact Ralph at firstname.lastname@example.org or (715) 365-4556.
The Nicolet College Art Gallery, located in the Learning Resources Center, is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays.
