Radiography career information session March 12

Feb. 23, 2015

Anyone interested in learning more about a career in Radiography is invited to attend an information session from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, in the University Transfer Center Fireside Room on the Nicolet College Campus.

During the free event participants will hear from a professional in the field about what radiographers do on a day-to-day basis. Nicolet staff will also be on hand to explain the application and admissions process and also talk about the course work necessary to graduate from the program.

Median salary was $39,964 for technical college Radiography graduates across the state in 2013, the latest year figures are available.

Nicolet shares the two-year associate degree program with Lakeshore Technical College near Manitowoc. Some classes are held in traditional classrooms and others over an interactive television (ITV) network. Students also spend time training at local clinical sites.

In general, radiographers work with patients to acquire the necessary diagnostic images. If you're detail-oriented, caring, interested in anatomy and physiology, able to work under pressure, and inclined to work with technology and people, a career as a radiographer may be a satisfying choice for you.

For more information, contact the Nicolet College Welcome Center at (715) 365-4493; 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4493; TDD 711.
