June 11, 2015

With Information Technology (IT) jobs starting at more than $20 an hour, and booming employment demand, careers in IT present an immediate opportunity.  Anyone interested in attending IT courses in Tomahawk or Minocqua for a career in the field is invited to attend an upcoming Nicolet College information session.

In Tomahawk, sessions will be held Tuesday, June 16, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and again 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Tomahawk Community Bank Community Room.

In Minocqua, sessions will be held Thursday, June 18, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and again 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Nicolet’s Lakeland Center.

“Nicolet students can get a college credential in the field in as little as nine months,” said Dean of Business Chuck Komp. “Virtually all businesses need IT staff and the demand is strong across the Northwoods for people with these skills.”

Nicolet will offer evening IT classes beginning this fall in both Tomahawk and Minocqua. Nicolet offers short-term training in IT along with two-year associate degrees in software development and computer support.
