Public comment sought for Nicolet College accreditation

Nicolet Area Technical College is seeking comments from the public about the college in preparation for its periodic evaluation by its regional accrediting agency.
The college will host a visit April 20-21 with a team representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.
Nicolet has been accredited by the Commission since 1975. The team will review the institution’s ongoing ability to meet the Commission’s Criteria for Accreditation. Nicolet currently has 10-year accreditation, the maximum granted by the commission. The current accreditation was awarded in 2005.
“The Higher Learning Commission determines accreditation for more than 1,500 colleges and universities in 19 states,” said Kenneth Urban, Nicolet College interim president. “As a result of its good standing, Nicolet was selected to be one of 60 institutions to pioneer the new Open Pathways accreditation process.”

Comments must address substantive matters related to the quality of the institution or its academic programs. Comments must be in writing.
Individuals wishing to review Nicolet College’s assurance arguments, the document prepared for the visit, can read the document on the college’s website at nicoletcollege.edu. Once there, enter Accreditation in the search box. The document will also be available at public libraries in the Nicolet District.
All comments must be received by March 20, 2015.
