Empty Bowls April 28 to raise money for area food pantries

The Empty Bowls fundraiser to help ease hunger in the Northwoods will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, in the Nicolet College Learning Resources Center.

Participants will enjoy a tasty meal of soup and bread prepared by students in Nicolet’s Culinary Arts program. Those attending will also choose a hand-made ceramic bowl crafted by local potters or a handmade wooden bowl made by local wood-turners that they will be able to take home after the event.

Cost to attend is $15. All proceeds will go to area food pantries.

Reservations are required and can be made by contacting Katy Ralph at (715) 365-4556,, or Vicki Severson at (715) 365-4512, You may leave a message including a name and how many people will be attending. The deadline to make a reservation is Friday, April 24.

Anyone looking to volunteer at the event is also encouraged to contact Ralph.

The event is being sponsored by the Nicolet College Employees’ Association, the Nicolet Art Gallery, the Nicolet Culinary Arts Program, and the Ceramics area in the college’s Art Department.
