Grant to cover about half the cost of Nursing Assistant education this summer through Nicolet College
May 20, 2015
Anyone seeking a career as a Nursing Assistant can get the education necessary this summer for roughly half the regular cost thanks to a grant Nicolet College received.
Classes will be held on the Nicolet Campus just south of Rhinelander and at the Three Lakes Elementary School.
On the Nicolet Campus, students will have two options. One class will run Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings June 8 to August 5 as well as two Saturdays, July 25 and August 1.
The second option on the Nicolet Campus is a daytime class that will run June 9 to Aug. 4.
In Three Lakes, Nicolet will hold two different daytime classes.
One will run Monday through Friday June 1 to June 23.
The second class will run Monday through Friday June 24 to July 17.
The grant will pay for textbooks, TB skin test and any required vaccinations, a criminal background check, and the fee to take the state certification exam.
Students are responsible for tuition costs.
Veterans who were military medics and wish to pursue a Nursing associate degree may be able to test out of the Nursing Assistant course.
