600 area 8th graders to experience manufacturing careers

Sept. 30, 2014

Careers in manufacturing will take center stage for about 600 Northwoods 8th graders when they attend the 3rd Annual Heavy Metal Tour Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Nicolet College.

Along with activities on campus, students will also tour area manufacturing facilities and parents will have their own chance to attend open houses at plants so they, too, can learn about today’s manufacturing careers.

heavy metal tour“The idea is to give students and their parents a solid understanding of manufacturing and all of the different types of jobs that are available in the field,” said Teri Phalin, PK-16 Admissions coordinator at Nicolet.
