Nicolet holds first-ever December graduation
Dec. 18, 2014
Excitement and joy filled the Nicolet College Theatre when the college held its first-ever December graduation ceremony for students who finished their course of study at the end of Fall Semester.
More than 250 students were invited to attend the commencement.
Here are a few photos from the event.
State Representative Rob Swearingen, left, and Nicolet College Interim President Kenneth Urban, center, prepare to lead the soon-to-be-graduates into the Nicolet Theatre for the commencement ceremony.
The congratulatory walk across the stage is a long-standing right of passage for Nicolet graduates.
Nursing graduate Carl Bloechl provided the Student Reflection. The 51-year-old honors graduate encouraged everyone – no matter their age – to pursue their dreams. Bloechl, who worked as a logger for many years, is now an emergency room nurse at Langlade Hospital in Antigo.
Hundreds of friends, family members, and college staff joined the graduates to celebrate.
