Oldenburg Group honored with Nicolet College Foundation Friends and Partners Award
June 3, 2014
The Nicolet College Foundation recently presented its 2014 Friends and Partners Award to the Oldenburg Group for its long-standing partnership with the college and its Welding program.
“Without question, the company has become a critical support to an effective instructional trade program at the college,” wrote Brigitte Kumbier, Dean of Trade, Industry, and Apprenticeship, in the nomination. “The company has assisted the college in redeveloping curriculum to prepare graduates for employment throughout the district. Oldenburg employees serve on the Welding Advisory Committee and teach as adjunct instructors.”
The Oldenburg Group’s Lake Shore plant is located just west of Rhinelander. The company is headquartered in Milwaukee and produces performance-engineered products used in the defense, mining, energy and architectural lighting industries worldwide.
The company has been working with Nicolet in various capacities for more than 20 years, regularly donating steel, wire, and other welding material to the college.
