Nicolet to offer free entrepreneurship workshops in September

Aug. 27, 2014

Entrepreneurs and small business owners looking to take their enterprise to the next level are invited to attend upcoming Pathways to Entrepreneurship class at Nicolet College.

During the two-hour sessions participants will learn the “must-dos” to launch a business and keep it running; reasons why a business plan is critical to your success; and why business model design is the new core competency before writing a business plan.

The free workshops, each covering the same topics, will be at the following times and locations:

- Tuesday, Sept. 9, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Minocqua Public Library.

- Saturday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Northwoods Center 209 on the Nicolet Campus.

- Monday, Sept. 22, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Crandon Public Library.

There is no cost to attend these workshops sponsored by the college’s Workforce and Economic Development department but pre-registration is required. To register, call Nicolet at (715) 365-4905; 1-800-544-3039, ext. 4905; TTY 711 or 1-800-947-3529; or email

Workshop participants will also learn about the upcoming and more in-depth Entrepreneurial Training Program sponsored by Nicolet College and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Small Business Development Center.

Participants in this program will meet for 10 Thursdays Oct. 2 to Dec. 4 on the Nicolet College Campus and take a more comprehensive look at numerous aspects of starting and running a successful business. The sessions will also feature expert guest speakers and one-on-one coaching.
