Medical Assistant graduates post 100% pass rate on national exam
Feb. 15, 2013
For the second year in a row, every one of the Nicolet College Medical Assistant graduates taking the national certification exam passed on their first attempt.
“We were absolutely thrilled when we found out that all of our students passed the exam,” said Candy Dailey, Medical Assistant Program Director. “We strive for a 100 percent pass rate and were elated to have that happen two years in a row.”
The 18 Medical Assistant graduates who took the 2012 exam came from numerous area communities including Rhinelander, Minocqua, Harshaw, Eagle River, St. Germain, Merrill, Tomahawk, Phelps, Winchester, Three Lakes, Tripoli, Crandon, Laona, and Wabeno.
Of the 18 graduates, 15 are currently working in the health care field in the Northwoods or plan to continue their college education to earn an advanced health care credential.
The national exam, administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants, also provides an annual report ranking graduate test scores. This serves as a report card for the college’s Medical Assistant program. Nicolet graduates ranked in the top 95th percentile nationally.
“It’s important to know that we are properly preparing students for health care careers,” Dailey said. “We are continually improving the program to meet technological changes and the needs of the community.”
