Nearly 550 students graduated from Nicolet College during commencement ceremonies on the Nicolet Campus Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19.
This included 441 graduates who received an associate degree, diploma, or certificate from the college and nearly another 100 who earned their GED or HSED through the college’s Academic Success program.
“It’s always exciting to see a graduating class complete their Nicolet education and enter the workforce or advance on to higher levels of education before they start their careers,” said Nicolet College President Elizabeth Burmaster.
“The skills these graduates bring to the Northwoods will contribute to the economic prosperity of the region by providing businesses with the trained workforce they need to be productive and profitable.”
Ceremonies were held Saturday, May 18, at the college for graduates receiving a degree, diploma or certificate. The ceremony for Academic Success graduates took place Sunday, May 19.
The commencement speaker at Saturday ceremonies was Wisconsin Technical College President Morna Foy. As president, Foy oversees operations of the 16-college state system.
At the ceremony Sunday, Nicolet College Student Ambassador Tony Bellman delivered the commencement address. Bellman started his education at Nicolet by earning a GED. Next year he’ll earn his associate degree in Information Technology from Nicolet and transfer to the University of Wisconsin-Stout to earn a bachelor’s degree
