Returning to the classroom after being out of school for a few years can be a daunting experience. The Returning to Learning open house addresses many of the issues that prevent adults from attending college.
The casual format evening includes informal roundtable discussions to answer common questions and concerns about attending college, such as:
- Enrolling in college
- Paying for college
- Balancing school, work, and family
- Attending college mid-career
- Determining what to study
- Discussions begin every 15 minutes
Other event highlights include:
- Demonstrations on taking an online course
- Labs and classrooms will be open for tours
- Instructors will answer your questions in specific academic areas
- Current and former students share their experiences about college
- Limited childcare will be available
- Help completing the admissions application form and waive the application fee by attending
- The chance to win an E-reader
