Shaken Baby Syndrome is a severe form of brain injury that occurs when an infant or young child is shaken forcibly enough to cause the brain to rebound against his or her skull. At least one baby is shaken each week in Wisconsin. Approximately 25% of these children die due to injuries they suffer. The rest are left with moderate to severe long-term disabilities. This class meets the State of Wisconsin certification and licensing requirements for child care providers and teachers.
