Host: Mike Shores 715-420-0284

This 2004 documentary film produced by Barry Silverthorn, directed by Gregory Greene and narrated by Barrie Zwicker examines the future of American suburbs. A home in the suburbs and the freedom of an automobile on the open road havebeen for many the American Dream. This film questions whether the culture we have built upon that foundation is sustainable in a future with increasing energy prices. The film runs 78 minutes which should leave adequate time for a lively discussion.

Pine Lake Town Hall
Host: Michael Shores 715-420-0284

Whether you haven’t biked for decades or gave it up more recently because it caused too many aches and pains, you will find that bicycles are being built with our needs in mind. From ‘comfort’ bikes with wide tires and cushioned seats, to mountain bikes with suspensions that reduce the bumps and finally to the world of laid back riding on recumbent designs with two or three wheels. We’ll also look at accessories and clothing that can make cycling safer and more comfortable as well as taking a look at where you might want to ride.
