University Transfer 1+1 Program
Southwest Technical College and Nicolet College joined in a 1+1 agreement whereby students complete one year of coursework through Southwest Technical College and one year through Nicolet’s University Transfer Liberal Arts program. At the completion of the 1+1 program, students are awarded a Nicolet College Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.

Leanne Miranda, Nicolet Academic Advisor
Leanne guides students in planning and meeting their academic goals. She works with students on registration, course selection, and academic progress. Leanne also helps students overcome academic or personal obstacles by directing them to available resources on campus and in the community.
Leanne earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Biology from Creighton University and continued on to earn her Masters in Zoology from UW-Madison. Leanne is also a certified Instructor of Natural Science. Leanne belongs to several professional associations including Wisconsin Academic Advising Association, Wisconsin Education Association Council, and National Education Association. She also servers on numerous academic advisory committees and is a Wisconsin Women = Prosperity Board Member.
Bachelor’s Degree Completion Options
Southwest Tech students participating in the University Transfer Liberal Arts partnership with Nicolet College who complete an AA or AS degree are:
- able to transfer up to 72 credits to any University of Wisconsin four-year institution and satisfy university general education requirements (additional courses may be needed for specific majors or licensure requirements).
- guaranteed admission to UW Platteville provided they earn a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
