Saul Newton is the Executive Director at the Wisconsin Veterans Chamber of Commerce, which is membership based and connects corporations, government agencies, and small businesses to America’s veteran business community. Saul will share how they provide support to veteran and veteran friendly entrepreneurs and business owners, work to help attract and retain veteran employees in their organizations, and support and promote non-profit organizations serving the needs of veterans and military service members in Wisconsin. Saul is a US Army veteran.
Mark Martello is a VHA clinical social worker and a retired US Air Force Major with experience in both direct clinical care and program management. He served in the Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA) Mental Health as the Chief of In-Garrison Mental Health Treatment and the Chief of Substance Abuse Treatment, where he was the program manager for multiple Air Force level programs. He has provided individual and group psychotherapy in inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization treatment settings. He is currently in training for Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression. Mark is a veteran of the US Navy, Wisconsin National Guard, and US Air Force.
Derek Heikkinen is the Business Director for the North Central Wisconsin Workforce Development Board. His primary responsibility is to lead a business driven approach to workforce and economic development success by identifying the needs of businesses, economic partners, and educational partners within the nine county region to ensure future prosperity. He is the chair of the North Central Wisconsin Business Solutions team comprised of all federal and state workforce partners working together to create career pathways and opportunities for those with barriers to employment. Derek will outline how the Workforce Development Board can help employers.
