Nicolet College Unveils Fall/Winter 2023-24 Arts & Enrichment Program
Nicolet College to host diverse arts events and personal development opportunities
Dozens of different arts events and personal interest learning opportunities will be available at Nicolet College with the launch of the Arts and Enrichment slate of events and activities for the new season. “We cater to a wide audience, offering our community members personal growth and enriching our entire community,” says Jenny Bonardelli, Nicolet College arts and events manager.
Nicolet Live! Performing Arts Series
The Nicolet Live! Performing Arts Series features events including concerts and a Winter Solstice celebration. “Nicolet College is proud to provide a rich range of entertainment from music to teaming up with the Rhinelander Masonic Lodge for the Fright Factory,” says Mike Effinger, theater and performing arts manager at Nicolet.
Shannon Hauser & Friends are next to take the stage of the Nicolet College theater. Hauser brings his Roots and Americana style music with a heavy Blues influence at
7:30 p.m. on September 30th.
One of the other upcoming programs is Luke Zahm, better known as the “Wisconsin Foodie.” This restaurant owner, chef, and host of the Emmy-winning television series, “Wisconsin Foodie,” will be on campus at 6:30 p.m. on October 25th to talk about sustainability, local food culture, and the role of culinary education. Admission is just $5 and benefits Feeding Our Rural Kids.

Nicolet College Art Exhibitions
The Nicolet College Art Gallery will feature a diverse selection of exhibitions featuring work by top artists from the Northwoods and beyond. The (Intuition) Collective, featuring artists from a Facebook group that Rhinelander’s own Andrew Egan started, is on display through September 23rd. This show will be followed by Nik Nerburn’s photography, offering a glimpse into a world of whimsy and catastrophe.
One of Nicolet College’s academic programs is Cosmetology, and this year the “The Art of Cosmetology” will be featured in the art gallery. From hair and makeup to nail design, the science of cosmetics meets the art of beauty in this exhibition.
The Nicolet College Art Gallery is in the Northwoods Center on the Rhinelander Campus and is open Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Fridays from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Community Education Classes
For those looking to broaden their creative horizons, Nicolet College has several classes to explore and develop your artistic interests. Classes include ceramics, stained glass, music theory, and a veteran welding workshop. Other classes include “Making Music for Movies” and “Beginning Piano and Basic Music Theory.”

Learning in Retirement
Learning in Retirement (LIR) is a Nicolet College membership-based organization. The annual membership is only $45 per year, and the group is opening some of its popular courses to the public. The Ced Vig Nature Series, Beneath the Eagle Tree: Early Morning Dreamscapes in Portrait and Verse, and a Remarkable Return to the Wild are available with a separate registration fee of $45 or free with your LIR membership.
